Phew I am wiped out...

oh golly. My body is so tired. The garage sale was a success but my body feels like it needs to hibernate for a day or two. Not to mention the sunny day we had that burned my skin, I feel like a potato chip. i could easily stare at the wall for an hour. It's Columbus Day and several people are out today, while I'm stuck in here and i'm kicking myself for not requesting it off. It's alright....I'll be fine.

yeehaw, tonight is The Voice and we're getting to the battle round segment. I guess the coaches have the right to steal the contestants and add them to their team, not sure how it's going to work, but i can't wait to watch!

The Yankees won their first game against the Orioles last night.  Can we say I am so stoked??? I bought the app atBat 12 and i can WATCH AND LISTEN to the game. I was woohooing all over the house. I was pretty shocked that there wasn't much data used up after the game. I thought for sure i was going to get screwed, but I didn't care. I can't watch the game here, because they don't show it. I heard the Giants lost to the Reds....boo.

Holy Crap. Gerr's birthday is next weekend and I have to figure something out ASAP! The man is turning 36. So far i have a couple of gifts coming, but nothing special. The guy has not said a word about what he wants. hmmph. He has mentioned a tablet, but HELLO, there are like 20 different tablets out there. I did send him this living social deal like a month ago and he brought it up while he was talking to a friend of ours, i was like "Hon, that deal's gone you know...if you wanted it, you shoulda told me when it was still valid." sigh....hmmm...maybe we can go to the pumpkin patch or something? A dinner on Saturday night? but where....i'm panicking. can you tell? He isn't making this easy either. He has no ideas and the poor guy doesn't think that his birthday is something special...which it totally is. Have i mentioned my brain is fried....

So Bella got to see her first Dog Trainer. I'm not going to mention his name yet, because i have a couple of strikes against him. First i'm going to tell you all the positives. He claimed his space, which was nice. Bella tried to jump, he knocked her down. lol. He let her give him kisses, he was ok with that. We went over our whole history and my apprehension with her and other dogs. He had a dog in his car and we ventured out to see how Bella does with a dog in a car situation. She didn't do well. He asked about a pinch collar, I said NO. I have like ten reasons why i don't like pinch collars and inflicting pain on my dog is one of the things I won't do. I want my dog to trust me not fear me.  Anyway, he was like "Well, it would solve this problem in like 20 seconds." That's great but will she actually LEARN something, or will she just FEAR being pulled.  That was strike one. Second strike was he mentioned that pits were different than other dogs, they'll just go off. Made me a little nervous when he said that. BUT he had  just left a house where a pit he was training went for his face and luckily the dog was muzzled. So ok that last strike may have been from that situation. I don't know. I had to make him think of other ways we were going to have to try. He came up with a squirt bottle or a squeaky toy to redirect her attention from a dog in the car to me. The goal is that in 5 weeks, Bella needs to be calm when we see a dog sitting in a car.  I hope that I can do this.

Ring of the day....
Remember Brain fried? which also meant i dressed like crap today and forgot to wear a ring. super sad face here. But I did do my nails last night. This is Julep's Rose. the last color only lasted about 4-5 days, the tips lost the color and cracked easily. I do a lot of typing, so we'll see how long this lasts.

Pawsitive Dog Stories
We've heard all the horrid stories of pitbulls being shot by police officers (some FOR NO FRIGGIN REASON), but what about the officers that are kind and do the right thing? We hardly hear about those. This is a great story from the Washington Examiner. A story about a dog searching for help AND jumping into a police car to cover the officer with kisses. I think we all would be a bit freaked out if ANY type of dog jumped into our vehicle. Star is up for adoption.

alright i'm going to zone out and stare at this beautiful white wall.....see you tomorrow.

Two posts in one day.....

Yeah, well I need to vent. I just heard on facebook that an old friend (and I mean like 17 years ago) died in a tragic motorcycle accident. His girlfriend is in the hospital in ICU, i guess.... Upon reading that I got scared. I felt alone. I felt so much fear for his girlfriend and for his family and his friends and I began invalidating myself because I was too scared to ask for his friendship since it's been 17 years, you know? I remember him. There aren't many people I remember from my past,  but i remember him. My fears limited me, stopped me from being his friend. Sure if he didn't remember me he would have been like and you are? and i would have been like uhm...i knew you 17 years ago I used to date so and so...lol. but who the fuck cares right??? sucks because I do.  I'm scared that if i say "hey, do you remember me?" someone will say "yeah and i didn't like you then so go away" Whatever, that's kind all in the past. What matters is that this person is gone.

Heath, I hope you are at peace.  I'm sorry that i didn't reach out when i saw you on Kari and Jason's page and said "Hi". My prayers go out to your family and friends who are going to miss you so much. Watch over them.

I realize i cannot handle death. I immediately think of my mother, my grandmother, my boyfriend, my dog, my cats, my friends...and I just cannot handle losing anyone else. My world starts to crumble when i hear about someone dying. I don't like how frail we are. I don't like how we can't say goodbye to people before they die. I hate not knowing when people are leaving us. I hate how losing someone makes me feel. The pain is unbearable.  The thought freaks me out.

How do we live like this?

I lost my boss and owner of the company a couple of weeks ago. He died at 89 years old at 1:30 in the morning getting into his truck on his way to work. His head slumped forward after he closed the door. He was doing what he's been doing for over 65 years. His life was full. His life was complete. But it still hurt that he was gone and i could never hear his voice or talk to him. He was a great man.

I don't know how to reach out to the people i used to be friends with. The ones i am friends with on FB but not really "friends". I figure they don't really want to be my friend. But i also care about them.

Wish it would rain and I could just go home and snuggle up to my dog and watch a black and white Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire movie. And then see my hunny and just be held for a while.

I fear this life.

So please everyone stay safe. I may not know you, but my heart is very sensitive and I care about people, so just be good ok? ok....

Garage Sales, Fleet week and Bella Training.

I live in the Bay Area and this week it's Fleet week. Unfortunately for me, I live in the north bay and getting to the city to watch the Blue Angels is going to prove difficult. ITS NOT FAIR! I want to see them fly under and over the Golden Gate Bridge! I live here dammit! Parking will be ridiculous, tourists will be occupying every empty available space in the area and 101 will probably not move because rubberneckers will be trying to hang out on the bridge as long as possible to see the Blue Angels fly over them. :( BOOHOO.

Bella's training is tomorrow!!! I'm so excited. My pup is pretty good at listening and learning things and she gets pretty focused when there's food involved.  I hope that we can help her with her dog on dog nervousness. Really excited and I hope I'm not let down. I'll let y'all know what happens next week.

Halloween Plan's HELL YEAH! We actually have Halloween plans. Which means I get to wear a costume for the whole night! yahooo. Friends of ours are going to dinner and a show and invited us to come, so we're heading to ASIASF. What will I be,  you ask??? Well here you go:
on Amazon

Now I don't look anything like her, but i think i can pull this off! Gerry will be a robber or a cop. He hasn't decided yet! No i will not be wearing those boots. If i intend to walk around and go to work the next day, my boots will have to be flatter. Lucky for me I'm a boot hoarder.  oh I also bought a Little Red Riding Hood costume, because that's how i roll. Every year I buy two costumes, sometimes you just don't want to be what you thought you wanted to be....:)

You know what i did last night? I had a really nice time with my friend hanging out in my room. I almost felt like a teenager. We talked about all sorts of things and it was awesome to have a real conversation with a friend about dogs, politics, relationships, etc...That goes in my box of cherished memories.

Garage Sale this weekend and i fear I do not have enough stuff to sell! My neighbors/friends have TONS of stuff they got from family members. I have to dig through our basement and figure out what I want to sell! I need extra money this week. I don't want to use my credit cards for anything for awhile

Pawsitive Dog Story!
This is a great story. I love reading the beginning and then getting to the fairytale ending. You'll read about Scooter a dog used as a weapon or rather a threat during a mugging. This pitty was taken to a shelter when people noticed she wasn't aggressive. Read the rest of the story here Scooter gets a second chance, by becoming a retired nurses best friend and getting her Good Canine Citizen Award among other things. Nice heartwarming story.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend all!!!
