i'm back and not awake yet.

Wow, that was actually a good weekend. I need to wake up though and catch up here. I have a lot of blogs to read too!!!
So let's get to it.

• This is really important for all dog owners. Buy some sunscreen for your dogs if they're sun bathers. My poor dog got a sunburn from laying out and I didn't even think of getting some sunscreen. Poor pup was all pink on her belly and her nose. I didn't realize dogs can get sun induced skin tumors and ofcourse I definitely don't want that for Bella.  Please please please, remember to apply sunscreen to your dog if the sun is hot and they have light hair on their bellys, pink noses, white faces or ears...They rely on  you to protect them in ever situation. DO NOT use any sunscreen with zinc oxide. 
• ugh..ok I'm staring at this and i just don't get it. The fox is playing tricks on me. Don't you just love optical illusions???
• I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. Us, northern Californians had mixed weather the entire time. Sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy, breezy, cold, hot, warm...I think we felt it all. To enjoy our schizophrenic weather I bought a patio set. My gal pal and I set it up. Great deal-79 bucks for a 5 peice patio set at Bed Bath & Beyond. I think I know why they're cheap, compare to the chairs outside stacked on top of eachother reading 129 bucks or so...Putting these items together takes TIME and these are in a box with lots of bolts, screws, and those other round circular thingys. Let's just say, we did it and we did it right! :)
• So i was using my hi-liter and i was thinking "hmm, i wonder who invented this lovely bright neon item that helps me focus in on the important items on this page?" The answer was pretty lame

• • i'd like to link all of you (or some of you, not sure how many people read me) to the centsationalsaver she has couponing stuff, discount information on goodies, and is currently following Dave Ramsey's program so you can learn alot on this site! check it out. So i checked out the costume discounters (go to the blog and you'll see what i'm talking about) and found a costume I want, but i don't use twitter. dammit...and i can't get on facebook until i'm at home. So if anyone is feeling nice, please buy me this.

  • ok. well my bullet point apparently is invisible.  So I made this YUMMMY salad yesterday with leftover london broil. Remember, I am not one of those peeps that tells ya cup measurements-I say taste as you go.  Ok, get your leftover steak, warm it up. Have some Bush's black beans, because really that's the only way to go-they're tasty and warm up seperately. chop your romaine lettuce and put into bowl. In seperate bowl mix half the jar of salsa with about equal amount of ranch dressing, stir remember taste!!! Add corn, red onion, green peppers, tomatoes, avocado, toasted tortilla strips (i left out some of these items because we had some picky eaters last night) and toss all together with dressing. Add meat and toss. lay dry beans on top of the salad and if you have some spanish cheese like queso fresco or cotija cheese definitely crumble. NUMMY.

  • need something new to watch????? check out blue-collar-dogs. the show will definitely touch your heart. and it's amazing what our pups can do....now if i can teach the cats something new, that would be amazing. 

  • Every house needs board games. It's amazing how much fun we had this weekend with Scattergories and smart ass board game. it was definitely fun. make sure your home as lots of games. They make you social, surprise people with your wit and intelligence, and provide lots of smiles all around. Doesn't matter how old you are either and that's what i love about games. If you're up to the challenge, get quelf.com it's out there, but so much fun.

I haven't disappeared....

I took a 4 day weekend and well i'm just relaxing. But i'll be back on Tuesday!

I'm so excited!!!! I'm about to lose control and I think i like it...

That's a really long title...Oh well. I have tomorrow off!!! and Monday!!! I get to sleep in ALL weekend!!! Thank Golly miss molly...

• ok two things from ONE website. Check out zenplease there's a lot of interesting things about the mind and body. need to feel more zenful, it may help you out a bit. ok next bullet point
• i googled "what to do on your day off" just to get more options since i'll have 4 days off after today!! Check the 20 things to do by zenplease here. i'll be doing 2, 5, 8 and 13. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and it will be sunny and warm. Maybe a BBQ or some lay out in the sun time. hmmm and/or watercoloring...

Psychobaby  they've got shirts you can personalize, toys, swaddling blankets, band onesies, tshirts etc. It's got everything.
Jaminga is where i'll probably stock up on skullwear for my kid. they even sell maternity clothes!! seriously cute punk rock stuff. Even the travel wipe bags have funky designs. Can't wait to be a cool mom one day! lol. The prices are a bit high, but some things like the diaper bag and stuff i think i would want to tote around coolness are worth the price.
Myretrobaby ok serious cuteness. They have trendy stuff and it's not so "punky". They have decor, clothing, gift sets, bedding, theme type stuff....it's a nice site. check it out.
Pretty awesome sites. I'll look some more stuff up, because I like the less trendy type of items, BUT i also like good deals. Some of this stuff is on the pricey side, but your baby is worth  it!

• I like to write something about some type of rescue or pitbull website or whatever in these blogs, because we all need to become more aware of these dogs and their potential rather than feeding to the fear of the media and stories of untrained animals. Check out this WONDERFUL site. The animal farm foundation is amazing. I want to adopt one of their dogs...man, i want a doggy and kitty farm ASAP!

Gray Day.

I was so busy yesterday that i couldn't log on to make a new post. But i'm here today. It's pretty gray out and slightly misting-ok it's rain, but soft rain?

i may color this later....stay tuned. I feel like Eeyore. The last couple of days, the pain in my neck has made me pretty down. funny how pain can do that to you. But I'm in the mood to be happy aren't you?

Summer lovin, had me a blast....

Ok so i just received an email from Gilette and the heading said "Don't let wetness ruin your game." Am i the only person who found this phrase peculiar and a bit, i dunno embarrassing. Nevertheless, i deleted it. Unless they're offering me free razors, what's the point of opening it. alright here we go...what's on my mind today....

• ack, how am i out of ideas for dinner???? We had a roasted chicken last night with the BOMB gravy. Gravy is delicious and should be its own food group. Contemplating sharing my recipe....but maybe i'll keep you waiting until Thanksgiving. but ok, well i have chicken left over and I'm not sure what to make tonight. Pasta? Salad? bleh...drawing blanks...what is up with that???? My creative juices are dry. I guess the wetness ain't ruinin my game. 
• Holy moly. It's already the end of the month??? How can it be??? where is time going and why do i feel like i haven't had a vacation in years????? Had to check and NOPE I have not taken any vacation days this year. So i still have two weeks and the year is almost halfway over. I am needing disneyland in a baddddd way!!! GDawg took me 3 years ago on our 10 day road trip vacation that was HEAVEN. then we went the year after that and last year we took Memphis. This year we have a new addition to our triangle- what should I call her...hmmm must think of a pretty code name. lol. should i trust disneyland to take care of Bella while we go through the park???? hmmmmm...something to think about. but i think i've been bitten by the dinneyland bee. i want to go right now!
• Ok i have a lot of friends that don't drink alcohol. Let's admit that summer drinks are always yummier with a splash of alcohol. lol. well if you can't drink or you're like me and choose not to drink, what can you do to spice up your water and make it more DELISH????? Well, here are a couple of options: 

fruity sodas-get some berries (any berry), lemon juice, sugar, a little salt and add some club soda, 

stir and smush, stir and smush (make sure sugar is absorbed)!! strain into a new glass with some ice 

and voila you have a fruity cocktail of your very own. 

Lemonade -1 3/4 cups white sugar, 8 cups water, 1 1/2 cups lemon juice-boil water and sugar until dissolved, add lemon juice and let sit for a while. taste after a couple of hours. 

Iced Tea -Fill a container with 4 cups of cold water, preferably filtered. Place 6 bags or 6 teaspoons of tea and cover or cap lightly. Place in the refrigerator for 8 hours. Remove bags or strain and serve over ice. Add some lemon and/or sugar based on taste. I would do that at the 4 hour mark. 

• i just found this recipe and i snagged it! lol enjoy this may work with the leftover chicken, but not sure if gdawg will be up to eating just this as the main dish...this is definitely a side!

CHICKEN CLUB PASTA SALAD
Sandy~Bettyinthekitchen

8 oz corkscrew or spiral pasta
¼ cup mayonnaise
¾ cup Italian dressing
2 cups chopped cooked rotisserie chicken
1 cup cubed Muenster or Monterey Jack cheese
12 strips crisp-cooked bacon, crumbled
1 avocado, cubed
1 cup each chopped celery and green bell pepper
8 oz cherry tomatoes, cut in half

Cook and drain the pasta according to the package directions and rinse it with cold water. In a large bowl, pour a small a mount of the Italian dressing into the mayonnaise and whisk to incorporate, then whisk in the remaining dressing. Stir in the pasta and the remaining ingredients.

• By the way, i must add my deep dislike of Miracle whip. And must tell people NEVER use miracle whip if you're making stuff for a bunch of people. Bleh, ruins the tastebuds in my mouth. Use real mayonnaise or make something else. 
• Tattttoooooos. Since my dear friend said something about having a stargazer lily tattoo and i said i have one too, i will share a pic of it.

• Macaroni and Cheese. I love macaroni and cheese. My recipe for cheese sauce is simple alter it if you please.  (i am a free hand cook so you'll have to wing it too). 1. a medium size scoop of butter, melt it on medium high heat and do not brown. 2.Pour milk (enough to cover your noodles) and heat to almost boiling. 3. Add lots of shredded cheese. I use sharp cheddar and to add a bit of sodium i'll add parmesan cheese. 4. Stir a lot and heat almost to boiling. Add a couple of dashes of pepper and some garlic salt ( i never use salt unless a recipe calls for it, usually when i'm baking). Taste. You may want to add a little more cheese if you don't think it's cheesy enough, but really is there such thing as too much cheese???? Now here is when you have options. If the taste is right and the thickness is perfect you can cover your noodles and serve. If it's a little on the wet side and you want to bake it pour it in a baking dish and toss the noodles, pour some breadcrumbs on top and bake for about 10-15 minutes. I usually switch over to broil to bake the top and make it crispy. I know this recipe isn't perfect-no exact measurements and all, but it tastes good and i get lots of compliments from it.  Enjoy!

• One of my favorite sites is by an organization called BADRAP. check it out. They do great things for my favorite breed. Proving that these animals are wonderful, loyal and loving pets. They have programs dedicated to training and correcting behaviors. They saved Michael Vick's dogs and rehabilitated many of them giving these animals a second chance for a life of happiness. Please visit their site. 
• Stars!!!! Gdawg has a great app that shows you the constellations and gives you the names of the stars in the sky. I think it's awesome. Great tool for kids and adults. I don't know the name of the app (I don't have a fancy phone yet, i don't need it). This site seems pretty darn cool, so check it out. it's a skywatching site and has all sorts of beautiful pics. 
• WAVES! Gdawg is a surfer, so go the beach a lot. Check out the pretty pics, by yours truly courtesy of mother nature.

•  Ok, so I know by now no one wants to talk about the Rapture dude, but according to www.examiner.com he's missing. Ofcourse this man disappeared! What i'm hoping though is that he gives the money back. I feel bad for all of those people who really thought the world was ending and sold all of their possessions. I don't care if they were gullible or whatever, but these people really did believe it and they deserve to get their money back. I hope Mr Camping does the right thing.

What a relief!

WE'RE ALIVE! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we have survived rapture and unless we're damned so is the rest of the world. (insert eye roll here). Ok now that it's over, can we get back to normal. Seriously people. Let's get to the randomness.

• went shopping today, but i couldn't find mason jars which are like the new black. I want to throw my cups away (or store them) and buy into this fad . the mason jars I linked you too are a bit expensive, but i sorta like the rooster.
• if you're looking for patio lounge chairs, i saw this one at Ross for 50 bucks. I really want two, but they only had one. sniff sniff.
• If you have a dog, check here to see if you can get that pup certified.
• Also, have you seen the show My cat from hell . Good show, but what i've learned so far is that ALL cats need high places to perch and watch people. The cat whisperer does pretty well with these frisky felines. Too bad i think the solution is pretty much the same every show. 
• Ever wondered how to make thousand island dressing, click on the link. I think that's the closest to what most people are used to. I personally wouldn't use sweet relish, but a finely chopped pickle should be just as delicious.

• Ok, i just saw an ad for teeth whitening and the girls face is super tan and her teeth look like they'll glow in the dark without a black light.  Who thinks of these ads???  Naturally teeth will look brighter the darker you are, but sorry not attractive at all. Actually it made me want to close the tab. bleh.
• hehehe...Sprayology has a PMS support spray. WTF? i probably could use that.  it claims to take cramps away too. PMS support 
• I'm friggin tired. i could have snoozed for a couple of hours.
• $1 flip flops at Old navy tomorrow. They're not exactly my cup of tea, but i may get a pair since they're a buck and sometimes you need crappy flip flops.
• Today at work they will be installing office 2007. Currently i have 97. hehehe. I hate the newer versions of excel and windows, but since my excel programs keep crashing i think it's time to convert. i'm waiting patiently for my transition. .....so if i suddenly leave, i don't really hate you. lol.
• Swing life away click it. do it. listen to it. melt your heart. it always melts mine.

Hives on a Sunny day

You read that right I woke up to a red throat and I just noticed that I have this big ole hive on my chest. I don't know why so itchy!!!!! but I'm not itching it...promise. wish i could take some benadryl but i get super sleepy on it.

• what's for dinner this evening? oh dang it, i forgot to defrost something. I am thinking it's a chicken night...but hmmmmm, what will i do wizzz zee chickahn!!!!

• because you're all dying to know. Today is a hike day. Unless it decides to start raining, then no it's a go home day. These buns need firming i tell ya...so it better not frickin rain.
• There are a couple of foods one should not make while at work, because it is UNFAIR to other employees.

1. Toast. this smell just reminds people of home and breakfast and brunch and diners(not dinners, this is not a type) and well, if you can't share, don't make any.
2. Bacon. What the heck? why are you bringing bacon to work? and why are you not sharing this either ??????It's like toast, but bacon is the international peace food. You could probably stop gang violence, war, divorce...etc...
3. Fish. Don't ever heat this up. The smell is just disgusting and makes me want to puke. Why would you reheat seafood in a microwave??? bleh...i think i feel sick.

I have two!!! I feel so special. you ladies rock my world. LOL. So it's a gloomy monday over here in NorCal. And so I must let my freak flag fly and update some randomness here.

• I just finished reading a thread where people were announcing their age and how many sex partners they had. Let's just say I feel like a whore, but not really. Just trying to figure out how many people can go up to age 25 and NOT had sex? Really???? were you a nerd in high school? I guess for some it's the whole religion thing and i get it. But for other women, really? (head cocked to the side, with very confused expression) shrug...i just don't get it, but I am not here to judge.
• Speaking of judgement...isn't that this upcoming saturday? is it going to happen???? or is it going to fizzle and fuzz like Y2K? I guess this is different since it's like the whole bible thing and not electronics and stuff...I'm interested in finding out, so I'll be here saturday. AF (aunt flo) probably will too, so that should be great and very uncomfortable. hmm. 
• oh my golly, look what i found retro red dress! tooooo cute! but 100 bucks? I have about three retro dresses and the best part about these dresses is they fit and fit well and accentuate curves that you didn't think you had. wish i had a store around me that I could try this on. need 100 buckaroonies though. how sad. Check the site out. Even if this may not be your style, they have some adorable things on there that you may find yourself liking.

Sunday Blues...

Well it's sunday. I did everything i needed to do yesterday and now I have many hours to do laundry. yahoo.

oh the randomness begins:

•  reading about Henry VIII and his queens is quite interesting. I love the tudors but actually reading about them is amazing. Way too dramatic and I imagine I'd rather have been some peasant far far away from the castle than being part of court. Too many decapitations for my taste. 
• "What do you think i have down there a gnome?" 
• Some skincare products are pretty expensive, but the easiest way to achieve smooth, firm skin is by using an egg white face lift which reminds me i should probably do one later on today. My face feels amazing after it. 
• I could eat lava cakes every night of my life, but then i'd probably wind up weighing 500 lbs. 
• It's good to talk to your parents once a week if they live far away. :) need to do that today.
• Pictures are pretty.

•  i want the red sequin dress-Every woman should have a gown of some kind. I don't care if you go and eat fried chicken on friday night at the local diner, you should still own an "I feel pretty" gown. the dress is like 60 bucks and they're out of stock. how friggin sad. I did ask to be on the waiting list for the black sequin gown....i like that one too.
• Hello Betsey Johnson black and pink wedges. You would look lovely on my feet. Why are you not on my feet? and why are you 90 bucks??? Why don't i have the 90 bucks to spare? oh that's right, because i need gas, groceries and i'm paying off a 2700 vet bill for my dog's most recent TPLO surgery. double sigh. (that reads sigh sigh)

So yesterday a friend and I (dude it smells like skunk? why???) were chatting ALLLLLL day on Yahoo. it was fun, got a lot of conversation in as I multitasked my day away. sometimes it's like medication. Anywho my friend was talking about smileys and she kept inserting emoticons into our convo. (i love emoticons and smileys and all that jazz-too cute-let me show you some random ones!

Ok what was i saying...yes yes yesh, my friend and i were talking about emoticons and i said why not just describe your emotion instead of using a picture or a smiley or whatever. So basically our conversation went like this:

ok so you get the drift. This probably will help our world become better at writing, i think. We're too lazy when we write to one another. I h8 that. u know? sux. i b rt bk. • i want muffins or pie. I think tomorrow i'm making some blueberry muffins. And I would also like a margarita. Probably virgin, because Gdog wants some too. (Gdog, is the significant other, the hetero partner in crime.  mmm blueberry muffins blueberry muffin blog post thing.. i need to check it out. if you have to write a blog about an amazing muffin, than I will follow your recipe!
