Happy Halloween!!!

Hello All and Happy Halloween!!!
This is my costume at work today:
I will take pictures of my costume later. No way in hell i was going to wear it at work today....

This year Gerr and I didn't really do much for Halloween. We didn't even carve pumpkins or decorate the yard like we normally do. One year we had a party and had a graveyard with fun skeleton lights decorating our tree. I guess the World Series sorta ruined Halloween for us. I was so wrapped up in it I forgot about all of the fun and cool Halloween stuff. We did go to a maze with our close friends and we are going out tonight with them...so maybe i'm just being a little hard on myself.

If you want to watch the Giants parade from the safety of your own office or home go to the livestream on the ABC News website. Click here

Last night was my last Chronic Pain Class. I'm so sad about it, but i get to go back to my normal schedule and make dinner the night before so I have LUNCH the next day!!! had to make a sandwich and i would rather have some chicken soup....homemade of course...

I am battling a cold and i think it's finally hitting me. Started to knock me down yesterday, but i think i have a bunch of "300" soldiers whooping the virus' ass, because i just feel a tad loopy.

Goodnight Ella-today a black lab that has been close to our friends and probably the only dog Bella doesn't freak out about is being put down. It was really sad to hear and i didn't know what to say. But i realized i didn't have to say anything. I will miss Ella. I will provide my friendship to my friends who will be hurting.

Positive Dog Story!
Ok this is also a stubbydog story (oh just sign up and get their emails, you won't regret it!!). The story is about a woman helping her husband by adopting a pitty and training her to become his service dog. I love that this woman loves her husband so much that she did whatever she could for him AND saved a doggy at the same time!

hewwo wednesday

Why? Why is it when i've been waking up in the morning i see sunshine when it should be raining? I am missing out on the rain. It's happening at night or in the early morning and i want to be awake, sipping on a hot cup of coffee, watching the rain hit the puddles in the yard and cuddling up to my pup. Ahhhhh, that sounds so nice right now. Now if only i could have a fireplace...

I am praying that by next year I will have a house! I have to put it out there (out there meaning the universe) my needs and wants. Positive energy that it will happen. The right time will come. The credit card debt paid. The loan perfect. etc.....It's my time. It will be my time...

World Series this evening! Go Giants!

My chronic pain program is coming to and end! So sad, because i've learned so much. I've learned about body mechanics and the way we move. I've learned some simple and fabulous exercises that really make you feel better after you do them. i've learned that perfectly straight and erect isn't naturally the best way to stand or sit. i've always known my thoughts were my own worst enemy and that i had to figure out a way to control them or lessen them so that my tension would be less, but man oh man, have i learned a lot of different ways to do that! One of the most important things that's come out of this is meditation. At first i thought it was hokey, but after years of dealing with pain I entered into this program with an open mind because I was tired of all the pain, the aches, the flare ups...etc...I think it was the best time to be in this program, because i was willing to do whatever they wanted. Meditation can be hard, but i feel elated and brand new when my session is over. i can go on youtube at work or at home and close my eyes and listen to some guided imagery or a body scan and relax for a moment. When i finally learned how to relax my face in a couple of seconds, i knew that i could do this throughout my body. I feel so lucky to have done this. Is all of my pain gone? No. I have fibromyalgia and that pinched nerve in my neck is still there. But i am alright. I don't focus on my pangs anymore and i am learning how to NOT talk about them all the time either. There are too many ways to alleviate pain, that to focus in on it is NOT one of them.

What's for dinner? This weekend we had a couple of people over for Game 6. Gerry had thought he bought some beef ribs, but picked up brisket instead. How? Please don't ask...i have no idea why he thought it was ribs and didn't read the label. So after a couple of days sitting in my fridge salt and pepper and spices all coating that sucker, I put it in the crockpot this morning with some barbecue sauce. Hopefully it will be tasty and ready in time for dinner. I guess we'll have sammiches, so that means i need some delicious bread.

Ring of the Day!

Oh have i mentioned how i cannot wait for Thanksgiving??? I guess we may be doing a shared Turkey day like last year with my buddies Melinda and Natalie. Sounds good to me! Gotta see who else wants to come, I have some friends with no family around, so it's always good to spread the word.

cool stuff and stuff
ASPCA-Celebrate shelter animals and go shopping on the ASPCA website. Today i bought Bella a life jacket 26 bucks, a puzzle cube (she loves puzzles), and the book "Shelter Dogs"  which 40% of the book sales go to the ASPCA. I should have gotten this for the cats, since Misfit loves to destroy Gerr's dj equipment (really just uses it for a scratching post)

Dogs on Drugs- Go read blog. funny! lol.
Inspirations By D-I am in such a pumpkin baking frenzy that the more recipes i find the happier i get! The link will take you to the best  Pumpkin Cookies. I will have to be the judge of that...

people:this is all i got today....wtf...all the usual sites weren't very interesting today. ho hum...

PAWSITIVE DOG STORY!
Stubbydog is an awesome site. I welcome their emails every time i get one, because I know I have something amazing to read. I want you all to read about Juliet and her foster parents. This story is pretty cool. It's about a dog that was given up and living in a shelter until she found the right parents who taught her a valuable skill, proving that pitbulls are just as good as any other dog. It's an awesome read, here it is

Have a great day everyone!

Somehow I missed a day....

oops...so today I owe you TWO positive dog stories...but first let's go on with the random crap in my head....

I got my yummy stuff from my recent binge on the Forever 21 website. Remember that huge sale i told you about last week....well i got a whole bunch of flowy blouses and tanks. I'm so happy. For a second there yesterday while I was trying on my shirts, i realized that the weather wasn't going to be warm for much longer. But that's when i laughed at myself; these blouses look great with cardigans!  So ladies buy those flowy shirts on sale and pair them with a sweater, layers look cute!
here are some examples...
and then pair with...
looks kinda cute...that shirt may even go with the skirt, but maybe a cute pair of cords or jeans...
not that I'm some type of fashionista, but i rarely let weather bring me down, so enjoy your clothes no matter what season it is...

Hey Radio: Don't tell me there's a chance of thunderstorms while the sun is shining. We never get thunderstorms around here, so I know they're talking about the south bay or east of us....sigh..i like lightning and thunder, especially at night.

Yesterday our power went off for about two hours at work...Funny how many people came in and said  "oh I know what happened..." Here are the following stories we heard about why the power died.

"We saw this bird and it started attacking the power lines and then it fell!"

"We saw a guy working on the pole by the power lines and he fell to the ground..."

I think a bird and a human look very different from eachother...don't you think?

My chronic pain class is awesome. I've been learning a lot and even though my mantra (Positive Thoughts) is simple, it works for me. My positive thoughts have beat my pain a couple of times and limiting the pain talk is actually working for me. Once i focus on something else and I  become involved in something else i feel more relaxed. I'm not saying everything is great and the pain has miraculously disappeared, but that I am feeling better; my mood and my willingness to do things has improved.  Funny thing:we learned how to sit down. I'm terrible at explaining things, but it involved looking at the ground and holding the sides of the chair and keeping a flat back. I keep forgetting to do this....but at least i'm becoming more aware of my movements....sometimes though, i fear I'm too aware.....

If you haven't done so join Opensky it's like those other two websites I constantly mention but with a twist.... :)

Slow danced with Gerr last night to Drive by Alan Jackson.:)

OK TWO POSITIVE DOG STORIES!!!
Ok the first one is 25 Heroic Dogs and How they saved People found on dogguide.net be sure to grab some tissues...Dogs are amazing and these stories are wonderful.
Maybe I'm just feeling super emotional, but this story touched my heart about Tucker Roo and his heroic act. Sometimes our animals try and tell us something, so remember to listen! Here's the story on the Portland Pit Bull Project page

Alrighty all, i must use my jet pack and jet....or whatever...have a great day all!

Hey there Tuesday.

Temptation. It's everywhere, ain't it? Clothing, shoes, chocolate, purses etc....I am woman. Hear me shop...I didn't buy anything though. See this is what i do: I click the stuff i like and i add them to my basket. I look at almost everything on the Hautelook or Ideeli page and click click away, then I close the page. If i really want it, i'll go back to it. I'm still thinking about these flats though....I am pretty sure I have enough flats.....or at least I think I do....these are patent leather and they're 16 bucks...see:
ok ok...since i'm not feeling that tortured, sad feeling, I'll leave them alone, even if they do have them in black. I am pitiful, i admit it.

Today is my first day of my chronic pain class. It's like my first day of school. I can't forget a pencil and I already bought my workbook, because i'm anal like that. I had to have it right after I found out i was accepted into the program. I am looking forward to it. Wondering what I will learn today, what we'll go over, what the people will be like...My goal is to not let my Fibro own me. Crossing my fingers that all of this helps me. :)

look how cute!! From the animal rescue website!

Positive Doggy Story of the Day!!
Ok i remember reading about this. This story is about a deformed puppy in a plastic bag. The poor pup was in a garbage bag, luckily a kind soul asked some questions and took the pup. Poor pitty puppy couldn't lift his head or arms or anything. This story could have been cut short and the puppy could have been euthanized right away. Pretty much what happened is the puppy had a chance to live. With a lot of donated therapy this puppy is guess what a PUPPY!! I remember reading about this before I saw pictures of her running! It really is a great story. Please read here on MSNBC website.

we're going camping this weekend!!! So happy! i intend to relax, read, play with Bella in the water, enjoy the boat, and eat burgers, steaks, sausage, hot dogs...etc you know a real camping trip with meat and stuff...I'm not sure i ever told y'all about my bad camping experience with vegetarians. snobby vegetarians. I need re-energizing food when i'm camping and i'm sorry pretty vegetables you do not do the trick. But of course we will eat some veggies (just in case my mother is reading)....

Alright tootieloo.

The Container Store, cupcakes and living social deals.

I love Living Social. If it weren't for them, i wouldn't be able to go out as much as I'd like. Personally, I feel depressed if all i did was stay home and stare at the TV every friggin night, so I need to be able to enjoy myself and break the monotony of the work week. Livingsocial, groupon, google offers, bloomspot, etc..they all help with that. So if you haven't signed up yet (it's free so you'd be silly if you didn't do it) go and do it now.

Yesterday we went to Baja Fresh. It was good. I had the carnitas burrito (a little flavorless) but they have some pretty good salsas so i used it to make a more tastier burrito. Also, try their Mango salsa. I thought i was going to hate it, but it was really good. 2 Drinks, chips and salsa for two and 2 burritos for $10.57. Ok so the deal I bought was for $9, but for some strange reason, after we ordered they told us to pay tax. Whatever,  $10.57 is better than 20 something.. All in all, it was ok. I may eat there again.

Baja Fresh is located in this very posh, outdoor Mall and it's always pretty empty.  Gerr wanted to go the the Container Store, but as soon I saw the Teacake cupcake shop, i ran in. I chose the buttercream frosted chocolate cupcake. Gerr got the pink velvet whoopie pie with cheesecake frosting. Neither one of us was impressed with the 9 bucks spent on our sweets.  The cupcake was ok, but if you're going to have a shop it better be out of this world. I'll give them another try.....I think i'll try the cupcake truck tonight at "Off the Grid." If you have a Safeway by you, try their red velvet cupcake, i know it's just a supermarket, but WOW.....and their cupcakes are only $1.99!

I interrupt this regularly scheduled program to inform all of you that:

I got accepted into the chronic pain program!!!!!
hallefrigginluya. :)

I hate the Container Store. I don't understand why people go there and feel like they're getting a DEAL?  I find that everything is over priced. A White box with holes in it was 14 bucks. I'd pay 5. I really don't understand the appeal. Personally, I'll go to Ross if i need a plastic bin, a desk organizer, a garbage can etc...I feared we were going to be kicked out because I kept looking at a price and announcing "HIGHWAY ROBBERY", "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?", "WHO WOULD PAY 25 BUCKS FOR THAT?". Lucky for us we made it out safely. Gerr actually purchased one item; a vial for 1.29.

I'm hoping today flies by. I woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday. I hate that crashing disappointment when you look at your alarm and you realize it's a weekday and not the weekend. BOOOOO. Alrighty all, I will let you go. Have a safe weekend. Lot's of hugs, J
