Tiger Tuesday-Everybody say ROOAR!

Yeah so the title makes no sense, but hopefully you've expected that from me since my blog doesn't follow any type of structure...it sorta does i guess, but really it makes sense in  my own mind.

On my mind right now...Pinch collars. I may try one. As i read about them, i'm finding that these are only used as a training tool and should be used a couple of times. I can deal with that. Maybe Bella will understand that it's time to learn now. I'm so confused. I don't even know who to ask about this. My boss uses it with her Corgi. Would it be so bad to use it only when I'm training her? My goal is to be able to get Bella so calm and focused on me that she knows I will be there for her. She doesn't need to get all coocoo when she sees a dog in a car. Yesterday i took her on a walk and i didn't see one. I let go of my anxiety and was like "ok here we go." Normally i take her to other areas with no dogs. Now i'm looking for dogs in cars, which i know will only help us practice. If anyone has arguments for or against pinch collars please comment below or message me. I just want to do what's right for my dog. Remember, she wasn't like this before she got attacked by a Golden Retriever.

Got my Cuisinart Pots and Pans yesterday!!! They are so beautiful and shiny, I don't even want to use them, i just want to look at them! I'm in love. Not included is one of those giant frying pans, which i'm sure is sold separately, but the whole set is awesome and i got it at such a great price. Thanks Rue La La!

tired of my weather app on my phone saying it's going to rain. The cloudless sky is telling me something different.

Last night I made Yorkshire Chicken. I had no idea what this was supposed to look like or taste like. BUT it was so GOOD! I'm trying to step outside of the box and take recipes from cookbooks that i've bought. Ack, i can't find the recipe online. I found it in one of my cookbooks and instead of a whole fryer or pieces, I used cut up chicken thighs. I dredged in flour and fried until golden brown in olive oil. I placed at the bottom of the casserole dish, carmelized some shallots in the leftover oil and placed on top of the chicken. prepared the batter which was 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk, 1 egg and some pepper, put that in the blender and then stirred in a teaspoon of dried rosemary. poured over the chicken and heated the oven to 365. The recipe said 375...i made a mistake, but after 40 minutes at 365 it was so yummy.

and here we go..

Hey Radio Stations: Some people don't like alcohol-i am not the biggest fan of it and I hate alcohol commercials on the radio....and in the morning they make me want to barf. I don't care about Crown Royal, so the least you can do is find a more appropriate time to air these commercials, like let's say AFTER 5.... oh and this really annoying Tapioca jingle (who the hell is writing these things) makes me want to kick my computer.

Gerr's birthday is next month... i have no idea what to get him....I think i may have planted an idea in his head that I may regret! A tablet...He did get me one for Christmas, you know...I think for that kinda thing we may want to wait for a good sale. But it is his birthday. I can't figure out what to get a person who gets himself everything...it's like me, except I love diamonds and that's always a good present for me..I don't think he'd appreciate a diamond i would wear...hmmm...

Going out to dinner tonight! Thank you livingsocial for providing me and Gerr some date nights with his busy schedule and all! Chianti Cucina in Novato is deeeelicious...check out the menu i have probably already given you the menu before, but what the hell...look again.

Lunch is being provided today. I know, I know...I'm also going out to eat tonight, so i ordered a salad. a Chicken caesar....i want to whine about it: WHY WHY WHY!!! Why couldn't they do it another day when i didn't already have dinner plans and planned on eating a large amount of calories...I was about to write cavities...lol.

Someone needs to make these new touchscreen phones a little more scratch resistant! I have no idea how-i am pretty good about keeping my phone in a different compartment away from my keys and any other scratchy objects, but there's a scratch in the middle of my phone!!!! It's not noticeable unless the phone is off, but it is pissing me off...

Positive dog story

Pitbull gets hero award for saving family video included on the Channel 7 news page. Good to know that the dog got a medal regardless of breed. She stayed with the daughter after she passed out from the smoke; both got smoke inhalation. We can all hope and pray that our canines (regardless of breed) will be there for us if anything happens. Thank you Diamond for being a good dog.

I like Good Food and i cannot lie....

i do..I love delicious food. If i eat at a restaurant once and the food was amazing, i want to go back the next day. I have been thinking about Terrapin Crossroads all week long. I want to try more of their menu items...Can you tell I love food? 

It's hard to diet...err rather count your calories when you love food. But I've done it and have lost or kept the weight off. So i'm doing something right! at least i hope. I guess i don't overdo it, maybe that's it-oh and don't bring up the 2 lb quesadilla i made the other day....that was just....well...a technical error, it grew out of control; the  beef, the cheese, the avocado...OH MY!!

Ahem where was I, yes I love food...that's what i was saying. I take advantage of LivingSocial, bloomspot and other sites that tell me about food or dinners for half the cost. I want to explore and go to parts of the city or even my own county that i've never been to before. I want to taste different cuisines and get ideas for my own meals. mmm food...isn't it delicious? 

So today i bought a livingsocial deal for Bistro Unique in San Francisco, mixed reviews on Yelp, but you never know...you gotta try it out and see what you find....

We went to Bogie's on Saturday and the food was good. Gerry and I both had omelettes and I found mine pretty fresh. I wasn't a fan of their chicken apple sausage, but the homestyle potatoes were delish. The salsa was YUMMY too! I love their atmosphere, totally cute place and the servers are awesome! They even had a guitarist strummin' and singin' away. Their website needs to be updated and they need to include pictures of their eclectic restaurant. It is totally cute!

You know, when i first started blogging I thought maybe i should write a cooking blog, with recipes and how to's and yadda yadda, but I'm one of those people who doesn't tend to measure anything (except rice, you have to measure rice! oh and when i bake, measuring is a must...oops i almost forgot, when i was learning to make French Onion Soup...that definitely needs measurements). I like to taste, and add if i need to. My instructions usually go like this "ok put the chicken in the hot skillet, make sure there's oil in the pan, you know enough to coat and move around" yeah, doesn't sound like great teaching skills to me.

I come up with stuff as I cook, I get this from my mother.  I remember asking her for a  her amazing Ginger Chicken recipe and she was like, "you know add some ginger and the garlic and the...." basically it was a whim type of recipe that got better and better every time she made it.  I'm like that, I'm not afraid of food. I'm not afraid of adding spices and smelling them and seeing what goes with what.  I don't know the names of every style i use, but i do know that sometimes the end product makes my heart happier than kittens playing with yarn.


OH OH, well ok remember yesterday i went home and put some lentils in the crockpot? Well they were done perfectly by the time i got home. All i did was add a lot of chicken broth and about 2 cups of water, Garlic salt, pepper...and that was it...i only had like 20 minutes for lunch so chopping onions and garlic were out of the question. When i tasted them, they definitely needed a bit more flavor, maybe all broth and no water...definitely will need to add onions and garlic, maybe some tomatoes too...I pretty much had them cooking on high for 5 hours. They were perfectly made-no hard lentil found!

I have a potluck tomorrow and i did decided on the Chicken Enchilada Roll Ups but i need to change a few things. (i do not like cilantro, so i'm not using it). I'm going to make some without chicken, since we have a vegetarian in our office. I will substitute chicken with black beans and corn. Make it more southwestern-y. I guess we'll see how it turns out, can't wait to taste them and hopefully will not inhale the entire thing. I'll try to remember to take a picture!

So people play with your food. Make it more interesting, for you. Read a recipe but don't feel so obliged to stick to it. Have FUN when you cook. Taste, taste, taste! Oh and don't over salt. That pisses me off more than anything. Add salt at the end of the meal, unless you're seasoning meat or something...

The Container Store, cupcakes and living social deals.

I love Living Social. If it weren't for them, i wouldn't be able to go out as much as I'd like. Personally, I feel depressed if all i did was stay home and stare at the TV every friggin night, so I need to be able to enjoy myself and break the monotony of the work week. Livingsocial, groupon, google offers, bloomspot, etc..they all help with that. So if you haven't signed up yet (it's free so you'd be silly if you didn't do it) go and do it now.

Yesterday we went to Baja Fresh. It was good. I had the carnitas burrito (a little flavorless) but they have some pretty good salsas so i used it to make a more tastier burrito. Also, try their Mango salsa. I thought i was going to hate it, but it was really good. 2 Drinks, chips and salsa for two and 2 burritos for $10.57. Ok so the deal I bought was for $9, but for some strange reason, after we ordered they told us to pay tax. Whatever,  $10.57 is better than 20 something.. All in all, it was ok. I may eat there again.

Baja Fresh is located in this very posh, outdoor Mall and it's always pretty empty.  Gerr wanted to go the the Container Store, but as soon I saw the Teacake cupcake shop, i ran in. I chose the buttercream frosted chocolate cupcake. Gerr got the pink velvet whoopie pie with cheesecake frosting. Neither one of us was impressed with the 9 bucks spent on our sweets.  The cupcake was ok, but if you're going to have a shop it better be out of this world. I'll give them another try.....I think i'll try the cupcake truck tonight at "Off the Grid." If you have a Safeway by you, try their red velvet cupcake, i know it's just a supermarket, but WOW.....and their cupcakes are only $1.99!

I hate the Container Store. I don't understand why people go there and feel like they're getting a DEAL?  I find that everything is over priced. A White box with holes in it was 14 bucks. I'd pay 5. I really don't understand the appeal. Personally, I'll go to Ross if i need a plastic bin, a desk organizer, a garbage can etc...I feared we were going to be kicked out because I kept looking at a price and announcing "HIGHWAY ROBBERY", "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?", "WHO WOULD PAY 25 BUCKS FOR THAT?". Lucky for us we made it out safely. Gerr actually purchased one item; a vial for 1.29.

I'm hoping today flies by. I woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday. I hate that crashing disappointment when you look at your alarm and you realize it's a weekday and not the weekend. BOOOOO. Alrighty all, I will let you go. Have a safe weekend. Lot's of hugs, J

Debwee, Debwee...

We got Debwee. Whenever I hear the word "debris" I think of Twister-that movie about the tornadoes, where Helen Hunt and what's his face are not good actors at all, but the rest of the cast is funny and stuff, yeah that one...When i got in my car i heard the traffic report for the South bay and they were talking about debris on the highway. Once again it's supposed to be stormy, but I see this ginormous star in the sky that's making me blind; probably should stop staring at it. Anyway, I'm driving to work and i see all of these people swerve, YIKES, it's debris debris! Well, it was a garbage bag that probably fell off a truck. So that's the word of the day, if you hear anyone say debris, kick 'em or punch 'em in the arm.

• Day 3 of my morning smoothie. I must say it's a guilty pleasure to hear that whirring of the blender and wake up Gerry...hehehehe. I know i'm so mean. If it was like 7 or so , i wouldn't do it, but come on it's 8-get your ass up. lol. I think my new blender hates ice. I'm not very nice to blenders, so I have to be careful. I will figure out my new blender and she will love me. OOH tonight is the farmer's market and I need some fruits!!! :) 
• What's the haps chaps? What is going on this weekend and what would I like to do. Truly I'd love to sleep in one day, but looks like Saturday I have to take Bella to the vet to get her second pee test-let's all cross our fingers that the Ecoli is finally gone...oh God, please...But what else sparks my interest:

Not much going on this weekend, which is fine with me. I should probably clean my house...hehehe.

• I'm eating Tomato Basil Wheat Thins like they're the only sustenance i need to survive. I need to stop...after i'm done with the plateful i grabbed. And then I'll probably have ugly withdrawals so watch out.  

• Hot on Hautelook- Matisse shoes. Blu Pepper-Great GREAT prices...19-22 bucks for some really nice blouses and dresses.
• Ideal on ideeli-Cute stuff on the Philadelphia picks sale and Girl's night out sale
• I feel awful, i wasn't impressed with either one of the above-ideeli and hautelook today. But I have different tastes than most. 
• WHATEVER!!! Hey New Yorkers, get your butts on Living Social and buy the VIP meet and Greet with this guy:

 Yup...I'd kill for this...Give me Just ONE Picture with him and I'd be super excited!! Oh wait..it costs 2500 bucks...nevermind that's fucking insane. Yes it includes a ticket and seating in the 100 level ticket, meet and greets bla bla bla...or you can choose to pay 2000 to meet Mariano Rivera. still way out of my price range.

• Today on Livingsocial-Marin/Sonoma- paddleboard session for 2! 50 bucks 4 hours. that's a good deal!
• Last night we started our Bocce team for Gerr's company. Stagecoach is official-there is a BOCCE Ball team!!! lol Had a great time, we lost but for most of us it was our first time playing in an actual court (ahem, me). I liked watching people and studying their technique. Can't wait for next week's game. Hopefully it will be a little warmer and less windy! 
• Oh and What's for dinner? My game plan for this evening is a baked scalloped potatoes with ham and Bacon! yummy. 

Off to la la land. I think i'll stare at the wall and slowly drift off into a functioning coma. By the way, wheat thins were made by Satan. That is all.

Hi Monday. Not really glad to see you, but how else will it be Friday again?  yawwwn. I wish i was a cat. My 13 year old gray kitty, Fievel, lounges around in the sun, in the kitty cubby, on top of us etc....He lives that "life" we all want. Active, spry, yet knows how to have a relaxing good time. meow.

• This weekend was the Rhythm Nation Bay Area Flash Mob, which I, ladies and gentleman, volunteered my feet to dance 30 seconds of a song. Hahaha. The group as a whole was amazing and even though only a few of us joined in for the end part, it was still a great feeling to be involved in something like that. I made the mistake of dropping off their radar years ago, they finally started accepting people. not sure if they still are, but if you hear they are, jump to the oppurtunity. They do pay you some money and they do send you some cool stuff. 
• awww Easter Parade In San Fran this weekend...I wonder what we're doing for Easter anyways...Ok to be honest, i'm not a fan of Easter. I was pretty sensitive as a child watching the whole Jesus Christ death scenes on TV and I was always left so confused. I didn't understand why people were such jerks and why they took advantage of him. So pretty much from then on, i didn't care for it. Great, he rised three days later as an AHA moment, but you know what, it shoulda never happened in the first place, disrespectful bored assholes. ok..done with that.
• OH yeah, tonights the Voice and the Live shows BEGIN!!! let's get it on!
• hmmm What's for Dinner???? i do not know. lol. Chicken. yes chicken...and veggies and rice a roni probably. yay i figured it out. I'm so smart. 
• Ack...since when is pinterest a meeting ground? Someone actually wrote something in their about me section about hoping to meet people and hang out. I thought the whole point was to ooh and ahh over things and get inspiration...errr rather pinspiration....
• hmmm living social deal for NYC....i wonder if Gerry would think this is fun. He doesn't really believe in Ghosts...but why not? 90 minute Ghost Tour 10 bucks people....
• So i'm looking through my emails, because they are interesting and I see "The Anatomy of the G spot", click and in my email it's like a newsletter with the above article and 10 healthy pie recipes. I feel this is a step in the direction of growing up...so there... now where's my teddy bear.
• tip-table cream is very useful...I am not sure why i couldn't find it in my fridge last night, but I was very upset that i couldn't add it to the pasta i was making...hmmph. 
• I need some exercise today. I think i'm gonna go for a walk after work...hope Bella's leg looks a bit better, although I am scared of taking her out.

Ever wonder what's right or what's wrong? What's up and what's down? What you're sure of or what you aren't? LIfe is the ever changing rollercoaster that dips and plunges into depths unknown and then shoot you into the sky with no restraints, so when you float down your gasping for breath. The last couple of days I've felt all over the place. How do you make decisions in life if you don't really know where you stand. How do you look at a situation and say "I'm done" even though things are fine, but the future may not be what you really want.  and what the hell is the future? The future hasn't happened yet; intentions aren't clear and maybe that's troubling. (love the vagueness don't you?) I hate uncertainty. There are things I know in life. We will all die. That I know. But before that what happens? Some of us aren't blessed to have children naturally, some of us aren't married, some of us don't have goals that occupy are lives.....so what do we do until then? Shop? expose our lives to other people with play by play posts about our stupid lives?  I don't know. All I know is I don't want to regret anything on my dying day, but if i'm already regretting some things because of confusion and delusion where does that leave me? Well let's get on with the normalities of this blog: Here ya go...

• This whole Hunger Games crap is annoying. Who and WHY are people reading this stuff? I sort of understood Harry Potter books and I definitely understood the reason why people went to Lord of the Rings and read the Hobbit, but I guess I don't get books these days. I had no idea people were even reading anymore. Here I am, reading Edgar Allen Poe and Louisa May Alcott's, Flower Fables. I guess i don't get it. shrug.

Will I be booking a flight today??? Ugh i don't know...1k for 2 roundtrip tix to NY...I feel like Jetblue can do better. Yes I am a snob, i only fly jetblue. Maybe I should look at other companies...bleh...I just want to see my family, but I also don't want to be broke. haha. sometimes you just can't win.

• bleh now i'm depressed. Life gets in the way of traveling. I'm praying that Bella's UTI is improving and we won't have to do anything serious. I just hate thinking about more surgeries or ultrasounds etc, for our dog. She doesn't need that and ofcourse we'll do it for her, but she's our dog, i want her to be happy. :(
• Sorry Jetblue, i'm going to look elsewhere....i may have to wait a month anyway to buy tix for May. 
• i love any opportunity to eat in San Francisco. so receiving and deals online makes me quite happy. I haven't been impressed with Google Offers sales though,  and this one isn't that awesome, but I realized that they atleast help promote restaurants. 3 day weekend yahoooo~

I am ecstatic. I am hoping that this weekend I can relax, exercise(not too much) and have a good time....I'm a bit stiff, but i'm hoping i can up the walking a bit more and be ok. All i know is i'm going to have a better weekend than the ones past, because people:my arm doesn't hurt anymore!!!! Now i'm just stiff in my neck and shoulders. I can work with that. My lower back, or hip area is a bit tender, but i think it's been all the walking i was doing this past week. sigh, i never want to to go through this again.

• deals deals deals...and i'm being stingy with my money which is a good thing. Too many shoes to choose from on ideeli. Jessica Simpson stuff is on sale there, hautelook has RVCA(which I friggin love) but no tshirts-which i really like much better than their dresses...Hautelook also has bikinis that look like underwear on sale...shrug, not a fan.

• Ok you know when you have the heater on and you have your ipod speakers on low and you're trying to hear what music is playing but you're at work and you don't want to blast the damn things...anyway, so I could have sworn i was listening to the black eyed peas, i checked and it was florence and the machine....next i thought i was listening to the Gorillaz and it was really Dr Dre. ha. whatever...it's funny. laugh.Ok this one was hilarious...i thought i was listening to Owl City and it was Taylor Swift!! hahahahaha.
• I know i haven't mentioned the Voice this season...well i am watching it...I actually look forward to Monday's for that purpose. lol. I can't wait until the teams are completed and we can get this show goin!!!!
• A friend of mine at work reminded me that the Academy of Arts has Adult thursday nights...now i know it sounds naughty, but it's called that for adults to go only, no kids allowed. They serve wine and stuff and you get to have fun and be the kid in the museum! So need to do this!
• I have mommy guilt. I haven't called my mother in a while and the last couple of times we video chatted i was just too tired. Pain wipes you out man...must call the mom this weekend. 
• My marin county friends! Living social deal 35 bucks for massage, acupuncture! wow...

• Our little Bella may have a UTI. She peed on the couch, practically on Ger. She's been peeing on the floor and finally it just occurred to me maybe it's not the fact that she had to go - she was doing it when we were asleep or Gerry was sleeping and i was gone, etc...Last night she came in after we made her stay outside for a bit and she went to her bed and she was there until i left this am. Can't be good. I'm actually hoping it's a UTI, because she's such a good girl and I would hate to have to crate her again. Gerr's on the way to the vet now with our baby. Here
• My experiment this year is not to mention Valentines Day to Gerry. He's not a very romantic person, but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and just see what happens. I know, I know, he's the atypical guy who will probably think it's just Tuesday what's all the fuss. lol. I didn't get flowers for my anniversary nor did i give him a card and he I. We're getting boring real fast. lol. He's not a picture guy anymore so can't take pics of each other. I guess shooting and guns and talking about warehouses will do.  I think i'm going to order Godiva chocolates for myself! I want this all to myself....

I have a stupid back. very very stupid. wish i could say "you're fired", but it follows me everywhere i go and it's not so simple to detach and trade for a new one.  Last week my back hurt, i saw my acupuncturist and felt better, i even went to work the next day. I started feeling really good until yesterday evening. I took Bella for a walk with Gerry, came back made dinner and did some light yoga. Played with Bella around the house and sat down and bam, i don't know what happened but my back didn't like that. Now along with all of this I have this shoulder, neck and left arm pain and it's pretty damn annoying. Well, the result of all of this is I am praying for a chiropractor appointment today. My guess is I need to be aligned. still, what a pain in the ass.

• There was frost on my windshield. It's actually THAT cold here in the Bay Area. About time, but really why am i not wearing a coat? 
• Went to the chiro....i sprained part of my neck which is inflamed and therefore hurt a nerve ending and that is radiating down my arm....sigh. 
• Now here's something interesting....a livingsocial deal in NYC for a chic shopping tour. Through the deal you pay 50 bucks and they take you to 5 affordable clothing stores with one of a kind items....my only fear is what if it's not your style...and what is "affordable" in NY? a pair of $75 jeans maybe affordable for some people, but I seriously could never pay that much for jeans. if you're interested check out livingsocial.

It's been a while. I was really out of it last week due to icky meds and just not feeling right. I felt like i was the zombie apocalypse. I'm gettin better and my brain feels less foggy, so i hope i can resume my nutty yet nifty blog tomorrow or the next. I didn't abandon anyone, i'm just busy. I do have some time right now so let's see what do i want to talk about...

• zoloft is the devil. just sayin.....
• I think my boyfriend thinks i'm a dork. As you know or have read, he gave me the Samsung Galaxy Tablet and i've downloaded nerdy word games, chess, mah jong...etc....well a couple of days ago I downloaded something called Fashion Story. If you don't know what it is it's like lemonade stand, but with clothes. sigh....i'm addicted. so sad. Since I don't want to be alone in this sad addiction, here's the link. You can even play online...I couldn't get you that link because it's BLOCKED!
• Anyone else get highly annoyed when you call someone and they don't call you back? You text someone and they don't call you back? OR they send you an IM and then 4 minutes later they log off? can i smack someone for these things? doesn't do my anxiety any good. 
• Tomorrow we're having a mini pot luck. I think i'm going to make a pasta salad. Easy schmeezy. Think-noodles, bacon on the side(one of our girls is a vegetarian), shredded carrots, maybe corn, i red onions, i've gotta look and see what the heck else i've got in the house, in a spicy ranch. num. 
• ahhh a new week. Personally I abhor mondays. but it's also a fresh start diet and exercise wise. Last week was a big personal FAIL. Since i didn't feel so good AND my back decided to go icky I was pretty much stripped of any good chemicals in my body. So this week it's all about walking my dog, doing some yoga stretches. I'm about to chop off my shoulder because i have super stiffness and i am pretty sure another friggin pinched nerve....AYE. Anyway, just gotta try and get back to normal.

First Full week, let's start this bitch.

Man....seems like forever ago when i actually worked a full week. I think it's been over a month. super sad face inserted here. I like three day weekends. i like sleep. feels good.
Anyway....

• Livingsocial has a great deal for the bay area. $125 for two for a whale watching tour to the Farallons. 8 hours and who knows what you'll see. I want to do this. I want to see a whale. 

• I like this story. I love to read about athletes in love with the pit bull breed and fighting a cause or standing up for them. Warms my heart.
• Went shooting this weekend. Actually had a lot of fun. I've done it before and I always forget how competitive it is. I think i am responsible for shooting the wire that held up all the targets.  I really need to learn how to shoot better. I did get very close the bullseye, but not close enough. lol. still it was fun and I want to get better. 
• Went to the movies this weekend, wasted Gerry's money on The Devil inside. Total Blair Witch wannabe but with exorcisms. How many times are we going to see stuff like this. Mockumentaries....boo. I didn't even know it until we sat down. We went with a couple of friends and i assumed everyone did their homework. Oh and i got the crappy bottom of the barrel popcorn. hmmph.
• drug of the day is zoloft.
• Instead of phones in the office we should replace them with cups and string. that would be cool.i can hear everything people are saying when they call each other, so why call? Why not either get up and walk over or whisper into a cup so no one can hear what they're saying. hehehe. 
• The cupboard is getting barer by the day. So I have to be more adventurous with my meals. I decided last night to make a chicken shepherd's pie. I cooked the chicken in cream of chicken soup, because i randomly had it in my pantry. A layer of mashed potatoes, creamy chicken, veggies and pie pastry voila, yumminess. :)
• Tonight's dinner will  hopefully be a nicely defrosted pork a la italiano...which means I will  make it all italiany. hahaha. 
• I love my tablet. I spend a lot of time with it. Last night though, our fun friends asked to play a boardgame and I got a break from it and had some human interaction, which of course I'd rather have. We played a game called Logo. Pretty self explanatory-a game about logos. 

• Downloaded an app for weight loss and exercise tracking on day 4 and i've lost a lb. me like.

2012 welcome to our lives! Alright new year what do you have in store for us??? An election-yay...a very sarcastic yay....I hate the commercials where they're all shit talking, it's annoying and I really don't care. I will never vote for Newt Gingrich and with a name like that he should be automatically disqualified. Anywhoo...looking forward to good things and the bad. Also we must remind ourselves of the things we can't be without and will take with us into the new year!

• I cannot live without the following websites-Living Social, Ideeli, Hautelook, Thrillist, Sole Society, and Amazon.com. I know probably so  many that i've forgotten but seriously, you cannot beat the deals offered on any of these websites. This year, do yourself a favor SAVE MONEY. Check out the sales offered through these sites and you'll be surprised at the money you wind up saving.
• I cannot live without my new Samsung Galaxy-ha i almost typed Galazy. I have to say though, I'm a nerd. The games i have are mostly word games. Learning new vocab words! Also got some dog training stuff, yoga workouts, cigarette smoking reducer, and lots of other cool brain gadgets. I did download some mind numbing zombie games, but they're just for boredom. lol. 
• I cannot live without my Ipod. Dear Ipod. You have helped me get through work, the holidays, boredom, workouts, etc. Thank you Gerry for getting me this wonderful gift. :)
• ok on with other stuff. I'm thankful for so many things and really i can live without a lot of stuff, because it is just stuff...so 
• Jetblue recovery sale!!! I am not buying tix to NY yet because the dates are until April 2. wait a month or so and i should see the same deal again! 149 one way, not bad!

And don't be afraid to make your leftovers into SOUP! Soup is healthy and filling if you do it right. I've talked and talked about it before, but maybe i can help you guys see that you can pretty much make soup from almost all of your leftovers. I made a salsa verde pork the other night-mmm i love the crock pot. Well last night I took the remainder of the rice and black beans and the pork, put it in a pot added some chicken stock and coooooooked. That's my lunch. :) yummy. I would have blended the black beans but since my soup fiasco with our blender a couple of months ago, i will have to wait until i buy myself a new one. :)

It's not beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It's WARM! really warm. :( not happy. i mean sure i'm happy, but not really. This is the type of weather one wants to see in the summer, not late Fall. super sulky sigh. I think a drive to the snow would be real nice, although i fear there is no snow up in the mountains.

• I am thrilled with thrillist.com. Not only do they tell me i'm good looking when i open their email, they also tell me of all the cool happenings in the city. Ofcourse my link is for San Fran, but you can see if they have a thrillist for your town. One thing  I would add is to include some happenings that do not revolve around getting drunk. I love food, entertainment and comedy, but i'm kind of over the drinking to get drunk thing. check out the link. I'm thinking I need to go to North Beach this weekend and indulge in a bacon Cheeseburger from Tupelo's, where they'll also have live entertainment. I think this is gonna be the place to be!
• Have you ever gone through something and then seen someone else go through the same thing and lucky you, you got past it and things turned out ok, but it's because you are more calm and your partner is calm too, and then you look at the other people and go ugh...because you just want to kick the person in the head to make them snap out of whatever is creating a downward spiral??? ok...yeah...

It's been like 2 months that I first brought up the ideas an airplane flight OR a helicopter flight....Well guess what appeared today on Livingsocial????? FLIGHT FLIGHT FLIGHT in a plane and it's 2 hours long and a good price. I gave him an hour exactly. If he doesn't make up his mind. I get to make it up for him. Either way he'll have a blast right?

I had to really think about a title this morning. I kept thinking "wish I could go back to sleep" or "what's wrong with 9:30 am nap time?" I'm always sleepy. That's the problem with writing a blog in the morning, you always wish you were in bed. I apologize for the repetitive desire to be sleeping.

• ONE WHOLE FRIGGIN WEEK. I actually haven't bought a pack of smokes in a week. The first day I smoked 3 cigarettes. Second day-one, third day-one, 4th day-one, 5th day 1, 6th day 1/2, 7th day 1/2. Now I am pretty sure i can go without. I've weaned myself off. I pray I can just go a day. Miraculously I can actually go most of the day without really going crazy. I'm giving myself a medal for one week...

Maybe this will help keep me motivated. One week of weaning myself off nicotine done. Let's go on to week two!!!

• So I quit smoking, yet I don't see any extra cash anywhere. I should have about 24 bucks laying around somewhere right??? i was smoking 4 packs of cigarettes which total about 24 bucks. I really would like that money because I think i want to buy a livingsocial deal for 20 yoga classes for 20 bucks. sigh. i love livingsocial.I have been doing yoga at home-can i tell you, i'm so sore in my tummy area...ouch. BUT it would be pretty cool if i could go to a class. It's an hour long though...I can only do 15 minutes of yoga right now, hmm maybe i can add 15 more minutes tonight. I'll let you know...

• There is an gunman across the freeway from my work whom possibly took his girlfriend hostage. Thanks to him traffic is a mess. Hopefully no one gets hurt. The first thing i said as I exited the building was "ooh helicopters"

• I love livingsocial. It definitely helps Gerr and I go out more often and experience restaurants we've never been to before. Well today's looks amazing-I'm tricking him though. Today's deal is dinner and a movie. Dinner at Zingari in SF which is also a jazz club! woot woot. I will definitely be having the ossobucco with wild mushroom risotto for 28 bucks. The coupon is for 40 dollars off the meal-we'll definitely need some cash, but hey who cares! Then we get to go see "One Day" with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. that's the tricky part. It's a romantic movie, hehehe. I have wanted to see it since I saw the preview. OOh here's the preview.

•  ok all of that talk has reminded me: I FEEL CHUBBY!!!! which means time to exercise more. Which also means, be nice to your body as you exercise. I miss running. makes me pout just to say that. so here's the program. I need to go back to my schedule. 3-4 hikes a week and wall squats.

 these work. my butt, thighs, calves and core were very happy. Also push ups because my arms are telling me I'm a wimp. True story the other day they did a jiggle, i was very upset. Slowly but surely I'll get back to my regimen. Just gotta be nice to my body, since my back is a bitch. 

• So what's for dinner???? Well let me tell ya...Shit on a shingle, but it's not really a shingle tonight it's more like homemade mashed potatoes. How do you make shit on a shingle? ok here goes.

in my way i will explain-

brown ground beef, onion, mushrooms (optional), garlic (one-two cloves) in an oiled skillet with EVOO

when nice and brown clear some space in the middle and put in two-three tablespoons of flour

mix the flour and the beef and cook for a while, brown the beef a bit more. Your aim is to cook the flour and immerse the flavors together. i'd say wait about 3-5 minutes on a medium flame. 

Add about a cup of milk at first until you get your desired amount-should look like a gravy. 

Add salt and pepper while it's cooking. 

IT will thicken as you cook, taste as you go. 

should taste good. like gravy ground beef. I know the original way to do it is with chipped beef or dried beef, but this way is way better. PLUS it gives you a handle on how to make country gravy people...mmmmmm....just replace beef, onions and mushrooms with SAUSAGE!

• ack...why i do read these things??? robyn-gardner-missing the story goes on and on...reminds me of some episode of CSI or something. This world is crazy.

hmmph. I think i look cute today, but i usually don't wear dresses that show a lot of leg because some men keep looking at me. GRR. I'm not very comfortable with putting my life out there anymore. Don't get me wrong, I was a myspace whore with many friends, thousands I didn't even know or talk to. It was cool then. I was single, I had a lower self esteem and needed to feel liked i guess. I never thought about people stealing my pics or the fact that I was letting out a lot of personal information to people who didn't even know me. Granted facebook isn't the same, but I hate it. It's an easy way to stay "friends" with people who aren't really your friends even though you know them in real life and can call them at a drop of a dime. Personally I feel that the friends I have who text me or call me are the ones that I really value and want in my life. Sure I'll pop on FB and check out the haps and maybe make some vague post, but that's the last place I will go and share any real news. I don't want sympathy or congratulations from people who can't visit or take the time to call-especially if I call them. wow that was a long rant.

• Had a good night last night. My sweetie and I went to Costco. It's funny that hanging out together at Costco can bring a couple together in so many ways.  We saw things we want for our first house together. We got snacks, beverages etc...I think we were there for a couple of hours. 
• BioBags!! Ok, so the deal is we're composting for the county. Our garbage company is turning our compost into SOIL! I think it's pretty awesome and ofcourse I also work for the company so I'm officially allowed to say that. Well everyone knows that you need a bin or some type of bag to transfer all your yucky leftover food, egg shells, meat stuffs etc from house to outside bin-so we bought these Bio bags which are recommended by my company. • Wow, i know it's not much compared to other blogs, but I'm ecstatic with my 18 readers! one of them is me-I have no idea how i did it, but well i do read my own blog right? hehe. Thank you for taking the time to read the randomness that is my brain. Do you think they would categorize me as OCD??? ok do not read this unless you think you have ocd, and now that I read it i'm beginning to think i have ocd...poop.
• I would like to thank the co worker who made me a copy of an invoice and interofficed it to me. It's nice that she did that, but the copy was so light I couldn't see shit. do people not look at what they send before they send it???? hmmph.

• So living social has a kayak deal on the bay during a Giants game. at first I was excited by it, but then i remembered that a kayak is something that you sort of get your legs into and it traps you inside like a pea pod. I'm not a strong swimmer so I think i'm going to pass. It would be sweet if it was like a little charter boat. But for all the other kayakers in the Bay Area go check out the deal. 
• Bella, bella bella...It's official. She is a contortionist. I placed her cone on her head right before i got into bed, moved her super comfy bed at the foot of mine and turned off the lights. She let out some pathetic whines and then gave in. As I'm dozing into the world of slumber, i hear "slurp slurp slurp" i turn on the light and i see her licking at her bandaged tail.(I need to get a picture of it, my vet friend made the tip bright pink) Ofcourse i stopped her, but i was scared she would find a way to make it all come off. Let's just say I didn't sleep so well.

• So tomorrow my work is ordering us sammiches (sandwiches for all of you literary types)...I want one now, but ofcourse now i have to wait until tomorrow. what kind will i get? are they premade? will i have a choice in this matter??? Will there be chips? All of these questions have yet to be answered. 
• So I've been invited to a wedding. Did i already talk about this?? I don't think so. We got the invite, i got the bridal shower invite just now...and now i'm dreading all of these SHOWERS. what the hell. How many frickin presents am I supposed to buy for a person. Personally I like simple weddings. you get an invite to the actual wedding and you can bring whatever present then. How do i make plans two months in advance for something like that? I hate doing that. but i guess i'll say yes and then hope for the best. Oh have i also added that I've been to two other weddings in my adulthood and caught the bouquet twice? I am not standing up for that part AT ALL. I've given up on marriage and wedding crap. I think i'm going to be a bride for a halloween just because I want to wear the pretty dress. 

i can be a distressed Alice not wanting to get married but already in the pretty dress. Plus I really want to do one of those crazy shoots where you mess the dress up. lol. 

By the way, I've already been married and divorced, hence why i'm not really too into the whole marriage thing.

•  so what's for dinner this evening????? i am thinking chicken in a garlic balsamic sauce with my macaroni and cheese. I already had an idea about how to braise the chicken but then i read the recipe and was yummified. I used up all of my mushrooms yesterday so i will have to tweak it a bit. that's what i call cooking by the way!
