Just keep repeating....

I will have a good day...i will have a good day...i will have a good day...That was my mantra this morning. I sat down at my desk and the phone rang. It was the evil bitch from this tire place we use. I skipped an invoice and i paid the wrong amount, apparently her system is from 1965 and it took her hours to figure it out. FINE I made a mistake. Instead of sending me invoices when we buy what we need, we get like 60 a month in a big giant pile. It's a lot of work and i am human. She's not nice about it at all. And i wish i had the power to say, "if you're not nice lady, we're going to take our business elsewhere and watch you go out of business." ugh...i will have a great day i will have a great day...i will have a great day...

AND the Giants won GAME ONE of the World Series!!!! What's up Verlander??? Looks like i was scared of you for nothing... :)

I've already voted....I feel good.

My boss must have known i was having a shitty morning, because we're getting lunch today!!!

So i have an issue with a lot of women out there and the whole pro-choice thing. I don't think people understand what pro-choice means exactly.  When some women hear the words Pro Choice, their automatic response is "Well, I'm pro life." No no no lady, actually you're pro choice. Don't you get it...YOU HAVE A CHOICE to be pro life! No man is telling you what you can do, you have decided for yourself. Do you understand literally what that means???? The government shouldn't be allowed to tell a man or a woman what they can do to their bodies or what God to pray to or what religion to belong to. That is not their decision. If you want to choose to have all the babies you get pregnant with-go ahead, it's your choice. The point is to not push your beliefs on someone else. Let them decide for themselves what they need to do. Pro Choice means having an option; not a law stopping you from making any choice at all.

In all of this World Series Craze, I almost forgot about Halloween. My favorite people at SF funcheap kindly reminded me that there are so many things happening this weekend and on Halloween itself. If you need help finding something to do in the Bay Area check out this link right here for a nice big list!

I have returned....

For a couple of days I couldn't think of anything to write. I attempted to write on Tuesday, but i sounded like i was babbling about nothing (which is what i normally do), so i decided fuck it and deleted the entire thing. Lots of things i want to share with you today. So let's get on with it...

  • I feel like i've been to too many funerals in the last 3 years. Everyone needs to stop dying. I am not a fan of losing people i care about. I went to one yesterday for my boss/owner of the company I work for. The church was packed, it's not even that packed for midnight mass (as a catholic i go once a year to Midnight mass on Christmas).  The service was followed by some touching speeches and then a lunch which everyone was invited to. The whole thing was beautiful, but seriously everyone stop dying because i don't want to go to anymore. :(
  • FYI Google Play is celebrating 25 billion apps and for the next 5 days you can get games and apps for 25 cents! awesomeness.
  • I had THE scariest experience yesterday, but i can't share it with all of you, because I haven't told my mom. I guess i'll have to tell her this weekend, because I need to write about it.
  • I want to share with you some of the websites that I like to check out. Some you may have heard about, maybe some you haven't. Check them out though:
trulia.com-I'm on the look out for homes in my area and this site gives you the history of the houses for sale and the estimated property taxes. You can even check out celebrity homes for sale!
joyus.com-this site is a bit different when it comes to shopping. Each item has a video, kinda like it's own mini commercial, so you get to see how the item works or show you how to use it. It's pretty nifty. Seems like the items are full price though, still it shows you cool foods, kitchen gadgets, containers, clothing, jewelry etc...Purdy kewl.
purewow.com-it's a stylish daily email that will share a style, a cuisine, a gadget and then tell you a couple of places where you can find it. And you can get discounts from retailers just by being a purewow member which is of course free!
All of these are free, by the way
Plukka-well this dandy, expensive site is for people like me who just love jewelry. The prices are marked down but for me, personally, still a bit expensive. I will keep looking and checking it out, you know....
Modewalk.ok the only problem with this website is that you have to sign in to see it...I know poo right??? but you can connect with facebook and poof there you see it. it's a free site as are all of these. Ok so not all of us can afford a skirt for like 5k and not everyone wears exactly what's on the runway, BUT we can check out the styles that are hitting the streets and incorporate them into our daily lives by buying similar items that we can afford. That's why i like this site. I have found items i would love (if i was a bijjilionaire) and actually found similar items on ideeli or hautelook for like a tenth of the price. So check this site out if you want, but I'm tellin ya, most of us normy's will not be able to afford buying stuff off this site.
Opensky.com-is kinda like joyous and purewow but items are one sale. Items tend to lean on the expensive side BUT some seem worth it. This site isn't as expensive as, let's say Modewalk. Check it out.
epicurious.com-mmmm daily emails of fantastic recipes and ideas. this one is a must.
joss and main-Welcome to your ideeli/hautelook site exclusively for home furniture, garden essentials and kitchen stuffs. :)

Shop online at Forever21 and get fifty percent off this weekend

I'll continue with more cool things you may want in your inbox next week!

ok POSITIVE DOG STORY!!!
Now this is a good story about a dog finding help for it's owner and i have to say a good samaritan who wasn't afraid of the dog.  Read here.  Just a reminder that our dogs or any ones dog can be a hero. Be kind to your potential hero pups at home.

have a great weekend all!

354 calories and counting.

It's so hard not to pig out on Potluck day at work, especially when it's a Mexican theme and everything looks delicious. I waited a while....patiently waited until i felt the rumbly in my tummy 30 minutes into my work day.....Pita chips with heirloom tomato salsa,  fresh quacamole, bean and corn salsa and some Santito's chips. I didn't eat any of my rolls today, because I tasted a bunch last night.... I have to keep track of my calories today. I can't over do it. I guess you can say I have willpower. I think i do. The food is just gonna keep on comin.

Modewalk....have you heard of this site??? It's kind of evil. Basically it's an ideeli/hautelook idea for RICH people...and for some strange reason unbeknownst to me I SIGNED UP.  It's depressing. I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the "sale" page but the sales consist of $1200 black skirts etc...1200 on sale...originally 2400. WHAT A GREAT SALE! It's a pretty skirt, but no way in hell am i spending that much on a skirt i haven't tried on and doesn't come with magic powers.  I don't know why i can't just unsubscribe. I feel guilty. lol.

One of the styles I reverted to this year was my love of rings. I love rings. The ring has to "speak" to me. It has to have personality..a je ne sais quoi...I went a bit overboard, i'll admit it, but i got some awesome deals. LOOK AT THESE SUPER COOL RINGS!!! err I am taking donations...in the form of rings....

OK i can so keep going.....

Facebook manners...
sigh...one thing i hate most about Facebook is the fact i can't weed out the things i don't want to read.   I don't care about people's religious views, their anti gay comments and stuff like that. I don't want to hear about it and i shouldn't have to. There's a reason why religion and politics are rare subjects at get togethers....people have different views on things and normally it leads people to heated debates. Now a days, most people accept people based on personality and the fun factor, even on conversation or common interests. Religion and politics are private things. WE vote on our own and most of us pray on our own. Yes I pray. And if you put me in a category,  I will smack you.

To be honest, hearing someone I am close to talk about their religious views as if it's law and nothing else can be true makes me feel sorry for them. Most of the religious people that I hang or hung out with, don't even practice what they preach. Most of my "religious" friends fail at following their own religion.  And guess what? IT'S HUMAN NATURE, no one is perfect. It's sad really, especially when they blame God for things they did.  sigh...

So what am i? Never call me a christian. Don't dare call me a catholic. I've never really found my "niche" in religion. People have taken faith and spirituality into extremes and created hate out of it, and i'm pretty sure it was supposed to give people hope.  All religions have basic principles. And those basic principles are standards; they all seem pretty much the same.  There are stories, there are main characters, supporting leads, tyrants and evil madmen in all of those books.....to me all of that other stuff is fluff. It's what is underlying and simple that really made me hold on to religion. To be kind, to be honest, to be helpful....It took me a long time to finally get it. Years of mistakes even...times i blamed God or someone OTHER THAN myself.

Ok you all probably don't want me to get into this stuff, the point is, my beliefs are my own. And I don't need to wear a shirt or write endless status updates about them. I don't need to advertise it, because I am proud of what I believe. I am proud I have found something in me and in this world that gives me hope. Something I live by. And you know what? I'm not a bad person. I will help a person who's in need, I will save an animal even if i don't have the best or ideal home. I will listen to any one if they need an ear. I will tell the truth even if it hurts others. i accept people based on who they are not what they look like, who they have sex with etc...  My religion is proving to not fail me. It's simple and I'm thankful to the God, Goddess or whatever entity there is or whatever it's called because it has offered me something more in this world. It has given my life substance.

Well that's the end of that.

Have a wonderful weekend!
